Macaws recognize their owners. Macaws have a relatively high IQ and learn very quickly. If the owner takes good care of and teaches the macaw, it only takes a period of training to get to know the owner and be able to talk. After a long period of training, it is possible that the macaw can still chat with its owner. Macaws are much better at learning words and can imitate other sounds.

Performance of a macaw recognizing its owner:

1. After a macaw recognizes its owner, it will flap its wings, chirp or speak the moment it sees the owner. Impulsive and eager to get food or snacks from their owners.

2. If someone other than the owner of the macaw approaches, the macaw may hide.

3. After the macaw recognizes its owner, it will respond to the owner's call, and will also take the initiative to approach the owner, respond to what the owner says, and may even talk or sing to the owner.
