Misunderstandings about dog deworming:

1. There is no need for deworming after vaccination. Vaccination and deworming are two completely different things. Vaccines are mainly used to control the outbreak of epidemic infectious diseases such as rabies and canine distemper. Parasites will not be killed by vaccines. Therefore, in addition to vaccinating their dogs, owners must also deworm them regularly to stay away from the harm of parasites.

2. Taking a bath can cure fleas. The main function of bathing the dog is to clean it, but it cannot kill fleas and other parasites, so it cannot meet the normal deworming needs. Moreover, fleas are tenacious and can survive in water.

3. One medicine can drive away all parasites. There are many types of parasites, including internal parasites and external parasites. There are several types of internal and external parasites, and different drugs target different types of parasites. Therefore, we must first understand the deworming scope of each drug, and then use it rationally to ensure that dogs are free from parasites both internally and externally.

How to deworm dogs:

1. For external parasites, we usually use drops, usually on the dog’s neck. It is to prevent dogs from vomiting after licking the anthelmintics.

2. For internal parasites, most of them are given anthelmintics. You can open the dog's mouth, put the anthelmintic medicine directly into the dog's throat, and then close the dog's mouth for about 10 seconds to let the dog swallow the medicine completely. You can also mix the anthelmintic medicine into the dog's food. It can take the medicine while eating.

3. Generally, external deworming is done about once a month, and internal deworming is done about once every three months.
