What to do if your dog’s hair becomes tangled

If the dog's hair is only slightly tangled, you only need to use a comb to slowly unclog the hair. If it is moderately knotted, you need to use both hands to manually tear apart the knots one by one, and then slowly use a comb to unclog the hair. But if the knotting is very serious and is severely knotted, the knotted hair needs to be cut off and combed, and then allowed to grow again.
Dog hair knotting can be divided into three different levels: light, medium and severe.
1. Mild knotting
If the dog's hair is only slightly knotted, the owner only needs to use a comb to slowly comb through the knotted hair. First find the tangled hair, and then use a comb to slowly comb it from the tip to the root to comb the hair. During the grooming process, the owner must pay attention and never pull hard, otherwise the dog will struggle violently if it feels pain.
2. Moderate knotting
If the dog’s hair cannot be combed out with a comb and the knots need to be torn apart by hand, then this situation is classified as moderate knotting. . At this time, the owner can only slowly pull out the knotted hair one by one, and then use a comb to comb the clumps of hair. However, this process requires a lot of patience, otherwise the dog will struggle if you exert any force. Of course, if the hair cannot even be pulled out, you can also drop a little knot-opening water or hair care essential oil and wait until the hair softens before proceeding.
3. Severe knotting
If the dog's hair is very knotted and cannot be combed out even after spraying a detangling agent, it is classified as severely knotted. In this case, the only option is to use scissors to directly cut off the dog's knotted hair. If you really can't do it yourself, you can take your dog to a beauty salon and let a professional hairdresser trim it.
Note: The owner should comb the dog's hair every day. This can prevent the dog's hair from getting tangled, prevent the dog from getting skin diseases, and promote emotional communication with the dog.
