There are generally three types of abnormal feeding behaviors in cats: anorexia, bulimia and pica. There are many potential threats to these three behaviors. Anorexia can lead to weight loss and internal dysfunction in cats; bulimia can lead to excessive obesity in cats; and pica can easily lead to cats eating indiscriminately and getting stuck on foreign objects or food poisoning. So it should be corrected in time. ​​​​​​

1. Anorexic cats show a lack of appetite or even refuse to eat. In this case, the food utensils or feeding place may be unclean or the food may be unclean, and the feeding place and food should be replaced with clean ones. Another situation is respiratory disease. After taking medical measures, the cat must be forced to eat with delicious food to arouse appetite.

2. A bulimic cat will not have much impact on the body at the beginning. But it will lead to obesity after a period of time. At this time, on the one hand, you need to increase the cat's amount of exercise, and on the other hand, you need to feed it low-calorie food. Hunger therapy and diet therapy should be used under the advice of your pet doctor. Do not try it yourself, as it will have adverse consequences for your cat.

3. Cats with pica will eat things other than their normal diet. We often find cats chewing on their own plants or chewing wool. The first method is to let it develop a conditioned reflex. When the cat eats foreign objects, you can spray water or roar to scare it. After a few times, the cat will correct its pica habit. Or you can put a smell that the cat is not accustomed to, such as vinegar, deodorant, etc., on the items that the cat often likes to lick. The cat will quit pica because it is disgusted with this smell. But you won't succeed once, you must try several times.
