Rabbits can survive hypoglycemia for two hours. If hypoglycemia is caused by long-term malnutrition, they can survive up to a week. When a rabbit suffers from hypoglycemia, it will appear unsteady when standing, lose appetite, drop in body temperature, slow reaction, limpness, lying on the ground, and twitching limbs. If first aid measures cannot be taken, the rabbit will become comatose or even die.

First aid measures for hypoglycemia in rabbits:

1. Feed the rabbit some glucose solution to replenish energy. When the symptoms are relieved, feed the rabbit some rabbit food and grass.

2. When the rabbit has hypoglycemia, it is necessary to keep the rabbit warm to prevent hypothermia from causing shock.

3. If the rabbit shows symptoms of syncope due to hypoglycemia, massage the rabbit’s limbs and send it to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.
