Symptoms of cat rhinitis:

1. In the early stages, sick cats will have flushing, dryness and swelling of the nasal mucosa. Her breathing becomes heavy and her mood becomes unstable.

2. Due to itchy mucous membranes, sick cats often scratch their noses with their front paws, shake their heads and retreat, sneeze frequently, and cough lightly.

3. Nasal fluid flows from one or both nostrils, first serous, then mucus, or even purulent, sometimes mixed with blood.

4. The skin around the nostrils may peel off. When the nostrils are blocked by excretion or scabs, shortness of breath and mouth breathing may occur.

Causes of cat rhinitis:

1. Stimulated by the cold air in winter, the cat’s nasal mucosa is prone to congestion and exudation, so the bacteria that are usually present in the nasal cavity take advantage of it. Developmental reproduction causes inflammation of the mucous membranes.

2. When a cat inhales ammonia, chlorine, smoke, dust, pollen, insects, etc., it directly irritates the nasal mucosa and can also cause nose inflammation.

3. Cat rhinitis may also be secondary to the spread of certain infectious diseases or inflammation of adjacent organs.
