Hairless cats are called Sphynx cats. They are based on several hairless cats found in the United States and Canada between 1975 and 1978, and were produced after mating with German curly cats. The hairless cat breed was established in the 1970s and was recognized as a rare breed in 2005.

The distinctive features of hairless cats are big ears, big eyes and wrinkled hairless skin. In fact, hairless cats are not completely hairless. The surface of their bodies is covered with soft lanugo hair. It feels great to the touch, like suede leather.

Hairless cats have well-developed muscles, slender limbs, big eyes, big ears, a triangular face, and a thin and long tail. Newly born kittens have many wrinkles on their bodies. Younger cats have rounder faces and more wrinkles on their skin. The overall skeleton looks very similar to a Siamese cat, and even the personality is very similar to a Siamese cat.

Hairless cats are more lively, curious, playful, and do not recognize life. But by nature, hairless cats are very docile, non-aggressive, very loyal to their owners, and can get along well with children and other animals.

However, it is more difficult to raise hairless cats. They have weak resistance to cold, heat and ultraviolet rays. They are afraid of cold, heat and sun, so they are suitable for indoor breeding. If the indoor temperature is lower than 10 degrees, hairless cats will freeze to death. The body temperature of hairless cats is also 4°C higher than that of ordinary cats, and they need to eat constantly to maintain their metabolism.
