Rectal thermometry

1. Disinfect the thermometer with alcohol, then shake it below 35 degrees, and apply some Vaseline on the thermometer to lubricate it.

2. Lift the cat's tail, slowly insert the thermometer into the cat's anus, about 4-5cm, wait for 3 minutes, and observe whether the temperature of the thermometer has stopped rising.

3. Wait until the temperature of the thermometer is stable, then take it out and read the temperature to know the cat’s body temperature.

Measuring the temperature of the inner hind legs

1. Disinfect the thermometer with alcohol and then lower it to below 35 degrees.

2. Place it at the inner root of the cat’s hind legs and wait for 5 minutes for reading. If the cat struggles violently, it is necessary to control the cat.

3. The temperature of the cat's body surface is 0.5 degrees lower than that of the rectum, so you need to add 0.5 degrees to get the correct temperature.
