Male cats cannot be neutered for four months. Cats that are four months old are not yet mature, so neutering the cat too early is not conducive to the cat’s postoperative recovery. Generally, male cats go into heat for the first time between May and June, so the recommended time for neutering is between 6 and 8 months old. However, it is not recommended to neuter a cat when it is in estrus, otherwise it will increase the difficulty of the operation. It is recommended that cat owners observe whether the cat's diet, sleep, defecation and urination are normal before sterilizing their cats. If everything is normal, they can perform the surgery under anesthesia.

Notes on taking cats for sterilization surgery:

1. The male cat needs to have completed a full set of vaccinations for more than 15 days, and has been dewormed internally and externally every month , and recently my mental state, appetite, and bowel movements have been normal.

2. Before the sterilization operation, you need to cooperate with the doctor to conduct a detailed physical examination, blood routine examination, liver and kidney function test, and only if everything is normal can the operation be performed under anesthesia. If the indicators are abnormal, treatment or conditioning is required. Surgery can only be performed after the indicators return to normal.

3. Neutering may affect the cat’s body hormone levels, causing the cat to be smaller. If the owner is concerned, he or she can choose to sterilize the cat after it is in heat or mature.
