Rabbits do not eat grass around their nests for the following three reasons:

1. Defense against natural enemies: Rabbits are not aggressive, so they are easily caught by natural enemies. The grass around their nests can hide their holes. Undetected.

2. Avoid running out of food: When the environment is harsh and food is scarce, the grass beside the nest can help.

3. Smell impact: Rabbits often go in and out of their burrows, and the grass around the nest is contaminated with the smell of rabbits, so rabbits regard these grasses as their home.
