Glaucoma does not directly threaten a dog’s life, so there is no definition of how long a dog with glaucoma can live. Dogs suffering from glaucoma can be cured, but the owner needs to take him to the hospital for treatment as soon as he discovers it. If delayed, it may cause irreparable consequences.

How to judge glaucoma in dogs:

1. The dog’s eyelids will be significantly enlarged, the cornea will become more transparent, the iris and lens will protrude forward, and the sides of the eyelids will protrude. When exposed to sunlight, the affected eye appears green or light turquoise, so it is called dog glaucoma. Dogs with glaucoma will have increased eye fluid, corneal edema, and deep corneal blood vessel proliferation.

2. Pressing the eyeball with the ball of your hand will give you a solid feeling.

3. The dog’s vision is affected and vision is reduced or lost.

4. The pupils will dilate (sometimes also shrink) and the light reflex will disappear.
