There are three reasons why hamsters eat their own kind:

1. Strong sense of territory: Hamsters are solitary animals. They have a strong sense of territory, so they will eat each other because of the competition for territory.

2. Caused by hunger: It may be that the owner feeds too little, causing the hamster to be too hungry and eat its own kind.

3. Caused by estrus: Hamsters will become very irritable when they are in estrus, and will attack each other because they are unwilling to cooperate.

Tip:

When raising hamsters, it is not allowed to mix them, because hamsters are absolutely solitary animals. If they are mixed, they are likely to fight, and in serious cases, they may eat each other.
