Cats are territorial. Cats like to stay in a familiar environment without any danger, invasion of foreign species, or strange smells, so that cats will feel at ease. Male cats are naturally more territorial, but female cats are more territorial about their nests. ​​​​​​

As a representative of the feline family, it is normal for cats to have territorial awareness. If you bring a new cat home, the native cat will be very angry because it feels that its territory has been violated. Unneutered male cats will use urine spraying to establish territory, while female cats generally do not exhibit territory enclosure behavior.
