What causes gastric torsion in dogs?

Gastric torsion in dogs:
1. Eat a large amount of food in a short period of time, or drink a large amount of water in a short period of time.
2. Do strenuous exercise after eating or drinking a lot of water.
3. A history of indigestion or gastritis.
4. After general anesthesia, the gastric emptying time is prolonged.
5. Pyloric stenosis or duodenal problems cause obstruction.
6. Trauma, fright, heredity.
Treatment plan for gastric torsion in dogs:
1. For sick dogs in shock, cardiotonic agents and respiratory stimulants should be given. Adenosine triphosphate disodium can be used, on a per kilogram basis. 0.3 mg of body weight, 1 subcutaneous injection. Vitamin Dl, 2 mg per kilogram of body weight, 1 subcutaneous injection.
2. Sick dogs with appetite should be cared for more. They can be fed liquid juices such as broth, milk and vegetable soup, and then gradually increase the amount of food.
3. Use 8 mg of neostigmine methyl sulfate, once subcutaneously, 3 times a day, for 2 days. Used to restore gastric motility in dogs.
4. If the symptoms cannot be relieved by the above treatment measures, surgical treatment should be performed as soon as possible.
