Temporarily reduce the dog’s activity space. The smaller the space, the smaller the chance of making a mistake. Choose a pet fence, prepare nest mats and drinking water in the fence, and fill the remaining space with special pee pads for pets.

Cover the enclosure with pee pads so that the dog has no chance of making mistakes. Once he successfully defecates on the pee pad, the owner will let him out to play and reward him with some delicious treats. In this way, the dog can slowly associate pooping on the pee pad with happy things such as freedom, toys, and food.

Try leaving some empty space in the enclosure and gradually reduce the size of the pads until only one is left. This step can be divided into multiple small parts according to the dog's condition. Don't worry even if you make a mistake, just go back to the previous step and start again.

After the dog can successfully defecate on the only pee pad left in the fence, you can gradually expand the scope of the fence to increase the dog's activity space and increase the difficulty of training.

After successfully increasing the difficulty, you can try to remove the fence and choose a fixed place in your home to place the pee pad. You can also choose a pet toilet of a suitable size and place a pee pad on the pet toilet to let the dog get used to it first.

Note:

Don’t use newspapers instead of pee pads. The pee pads are not only highly absorbent and can quickly condense to prevent back seepage. The specially added antibacterial agent can effectively prevent bacterial growth, and their skills are far better than newspapers.

When the dog does the correct action, he will be rewarded with treats.

If the dog has left the scene after urinating, do not catch it again and punish it, because the dog may be confused and may directly associate defecation with being scolded, which will bring greater challenges to future training.
