It is common for most civet cats to give birth to 4 to 6 cubs in a litter, but the number will be a little less for the first litter. It is possible to have 1 to 3 cubs, and the number may become normal in the future.

Postpartum care for civet cats:

1. 2 hours after the cat gives birth, the cat’s delivery situation should be observed. If there is a stillbirth, it should be removed in time, but you must be careful. Do not touch the mother cat or kittens. Don't touch things in boxes and boxes.

2. The female cat’s body is relatively weak after giving birth, and her disease resistance is reduced due to breastfeeding. The postpartum care of the female cat should be strengthened. Feed food several times a day and give enough drinking water. The quality and quantity of food should be reasonable.

3. The female cat’s food bowl, water bowl, towel and other items should be cleaned every day, and it is best to expose them to the sun for sterilization. The cat toilet, food bowl, and water bowl are placed next to the delivery room to facilitate the female cat to eat. Cat toilets should be cleaned regularly, and it is best to place them separately from food and water bowls. Cats don’t like to defecate too close to food.

4. Some cat friends think that the female cat will be dirty when she gives birth to kittens, so she needs to be bathed. It is recommended that you try not to bathe the female cat during her confinement period. Because if not handled properly during bathing, the cat may catch a cold. Once the mother cat becomes ill, taking medicine may affect the kitten that has not yet been weaned. Therefore, it is not recommended to bathe female cats during confinement.
