The Birman cat is also known as the Burmese holy cat. Legend has it that it was first raised by monks in ancient Burmese temples and was regarded as a sacred cat to protect the temple. It was introduced to Europe in the 18th century and gradually evolved and finalized. The Birman cat is longer in body, and its fur is mainly light golden yellow. The fur on its face, ears, legs and tail is darker, brown or dark gray, and its four paws are white.
