Female cats usually start defecating about 2 days after the sterilization surgery. Owners need to note that female cats are generally required to fast during the sterilization surgery. They cannot feed as normal on the day after the sterilization surgery. It is generally recommended to use liquid cans, and the appetite cannot recover quickly after the surgery, so they may not defecate for one to two days after the surgery. Precautions for cats after sterilization:

1. The cat cannot be bathed after the operation. The earliest time for the cat to be bathed is about half a month after the operation, and the wound can be completely healed. Moreover, due to the anesthesia, the cat’s consciousness is not very clear, so it may be easy to attack people during this period, and the owner must pay attention.

2. If proper care is taken after the operation, there is no postoperative infection and the wound heals well, the sutures can usually be removed in 8 to 10 days. The suture removal process is very simple and can be completed in about 1 minute, so parents only need to hold the cat well and let the cat expose its belly. Within 2 days after the sutures are removed, wipe the wound with alcohol swabs or iodine and fluoride 3 times a day.

3. Do not force the cat to eat. Under normal circumstances, if there are no other diseases, it does not matter if the cat does not eat for several days. When its gastrointestinal function is weak, forced feeding can also cause vomiting. Cats have a strong ability to adjust themselves, and they will eat automatically when their condition after surgery is better.
