Causes of canine demodicosis:

1. Direct contact with sick dogs, or contact with clothing, toys, bowls, etc. used by sick dogs , thereby becoming infected with Demodex mites.

2. Demodicosis can also be transmitted to puppies through the placenta.

3. Usually a very small amount of Demodex mites live in the dog’s hair follicles and occasionally in the sebaceous glands.

Symptoms of canine demodicosis:

1. When a dog is infected, the skin will produce a large amount of dandruff, and the skin will also become thicker, accompanied by Symptoms such as erythema and papules.

2. When the dog is seriously ill, systemic symptoms may occur, such as fever, depression, anorexia, and enlarged lymph nodes on the body surface.

3. Hair loss. When the number of Demodex mites increases, it destroys the hair follicles, causing necrosis of the hair follicles and hair loss on the skin.
