After a kitten has anal prolapse, it cannot heal on its own, because the prolapse is caused by severe diarrhea, so it needs to be treated in time. If a kitten suffers from anal prolapse due to diarrhea, it is best to treat it immediately. When the kitten stops having diarrhea, it will gradually recover. If the kitten has tissue necrosis due to prolapse of the anus, it must be taken to the hospital for surgical removal. Leaving it alone will aggravate the condition, and in serious cases it may endanger the cat's life, let alone stuffing it back directly, which may make the situation more and more serious.

Causes of anal prolapse in kittens:

1. Severe diarrhea. The cause of severe diarrhea in cats may be intestinal parasites, such as coccidia, trichomoniasis, etc. Cats eat spoiled or rotten food, or their intestines are infected by parasites, causing severe diarrhea.

2. The cat may be constipated and suffer from anal prolapse caused by excessive force during defecation. Like people, when they are constipated, they try to push their poop out with greater force than usual. At this time, excessive abdominal pressure may lead to anal prolapse.

3. Vigorous exertion during childbirth can also cause excessive internal pressure in the abdomen, causing the anus to prolapse.

4. The anal sphincter is weakened. When the strength of the anal sphincter that closes the anus is weakened due to lack of nutrition or medical illness, its function weakens, allowing the rectum to overflow.
