When cats with folded ears become ill, they generally show inactivity, a stiff tail, and stiff and deformed joints. Some cats with folded ears will also develop the disease after 1 year old, and there are even cats with folded ears that only develop the disease in old age. Therefore, cats with folded ears may develop the disease at any age.
