The dog's anal gland is a gland, a pair of pear-shaped glands, located at about four o'clock and eight o'clock on both sides of the dog's anus, one on the left and one on the left, each with an opening. Whenever your dog poops, the glands release a strong-smelling liquid to mark it. If the anal glands are left untreated for a long time, odor will occur and adverse phenomena such as anal inflammation will occur. You should also observe whether there are any abnormalities around the dog's anus and whether the dog often rubs its butt against the ground after defecation.

What to do if the dog’s anal glands are inflamed:

1. Disinfect with iodophor first, then use a napkin to hold the dog’s anus and try to squeeze it first. After cleaning the anus with warm salt water, you can apply erythromycin ointment and anti-inflammatory ointment after the treatment.

2. Rinse or wipe with saline after defecation every day to avoid bacterial infection in the feces.

3. When there is no hard lump around the anus, it proves that the patient has fully recovered.
