Ragdoll cats can eat protein. Cooked egg whites can meet your cat’s protein needs. However, it should be noted that cats eating too much protein may cause indigestion or constipation, so feed them in moderation. At the same time, cooked egg yolks are better for cats. Egg yolks are rich in lecithin, which is good for cats’ hair and skin. It is recommended that owners feed their cats eggs 1 to 2 times a week and try to break the eggs when feeding, because eggs contain very little water to prevent cats from choking.

Notes on giving eggs to Ragdoll cats:

1. Although eggs are very good for cats, they still cannot use eggs as their staple food.

2. When feeding eggs, try to cook them in plain water without adding seasonings; cooked eggs contain less antibiotic protein than raw eggs, and antibiotic proteins will hinder cats’ absorption of vitamin b7.

3. If you want to choose raw eggs, it is best to buy sterile eggs, because ordinary raw eggs may put cats at risk of salmonella, E. coli and campylobacter.

4. It is usually not recommended for cats under 3 months old to eat eggs, because the cat’s digestive system is not yet complete at this time and may cause indigestion. Cats over three months old can eat cooked egg yolks, but be sure not to feed them egg whites. You can separate the yolks from hard-boiled eggs and mix them into your cat's food.
