Dogs also get sick or catch a cold, so parents are very concerned about their dogs' health. Now many parents prepare medical kits for their dogs to prevent accidents, but some parents don't know what to put in the medical kit. Those medicines, then the editor will give you some information about what medicines should be put in the medicine box based on the questions that parents usually ask most about dogs.

1. Cold medicine: Western medicine used by humans to treat colds is best not to be given to dogs, because it is difficult to control how the chemical components in it will react on dogs. I personally think cold granules, antiviral oral liquid, and Shuanghuanglian-type traditional Chinese medicines are better for treating colds and respiratory infections. Because traditional Chinese medicine generally has relatively mild properties and is mostly in the form of oral liquid, the dosage is easier to control.

2. Digestive aids: Multi-enzyme tablets and yeast tablets are must-prepare digestive aids for dogs at home. The digestive system of dogs is relatively fragile. They often suffer from vomiting or diarrhea due to eating too much or eating too fast. You can not only give it digestive medicine when it has a bad appetite, but also give it to it regularly. Take a few digestive pills to nip it in the bud.

3. Antidiarrheal drugs: Huangliansu or norfloxacin capsules are commonly used antidiarrheal drugs for humans, and dogs can also take them. There is also gentamicin sulfate given orally to dogs, which is also a good antidiarrheal drug. However, Qingda is now a prescription drug and cannot be bought casually in pharmacies. No matter what kind of antidiarrheal medicine you use, you must pay attention to whether the diarrhea is just a digestive system problem. If your dog is new to your home, or has diarrhea and blood in the stool, you must go to the hospital. Do not give it any medicine by yourself.

4. Anti-inflammatory drugs: If the dog has obvious inflammation, or serious redness, swelling, or skin disease, you can also take some oral anti-inflammatory drugs in conjunction with external medicines. You can give it some amoxicillin, which is also a mild medicine. Anti-inflammatory drugs are not very irritating to the dog’s gastrointestinal tract.

5. Motion sickness medicine: For dogs who suffer from motion sickness, Chengxuning is also a common medicine at home. You should give it a calculated dose before going out to make the dog feel calmer when riding in the car. However, most dogs now ride in cars all day long and rarely get motion sickness, so motion sickness medicine is no longer a must-have for every dog mom.

In general, we can give dogs some mild internal medicines that we often take, but there are two principles: 1. Make sure that the dog is just a minor problem that we are familiar with, and there is no possibility of any serious disease (such as canine distemper) The early stage of the disease is just like a cold, easy to ignore); 2. The dosage of medication must be conservative and not excessive.

The last thing I say is that you must carefully observe whether your treatment is effective for your dog. If your dog’s condition does not improve after two days of taking the medicine, you must go to the hospital. Don’t delay your dog’s illness.
