Do cats snore?

Cats do not snore under normal circumstances. The purring sound made by cats is the sound produced by the vibration of their false vocal cords. Generally, cats will purr when they are in a relaxed environment, in pain, tension, comfort, etc. However, cats will not make such sounds after they are asleep. If the owner finds that the cat purrs too frequently, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination to avoid breathing difficulties caused by respiratory infection.
The reasons why cats snore:
1. They are born with special facial structure. Some cats are born with a special facial structure and have a flat bun face. Due to the shortening of the nasal bones, the inside of the nasal cavity and the upper respiratory tract have curved structures, which leads to difficulty breathing during sleep and snoring.
2. Improper sleeping posture. When the cat's body and neck are twisted at a large angle, the air will be blocked and not smooth when breathing, resulting in the sound of snoring.
3. Diseases occur in the respiratory tract. Cats suffering from rhinitis, pharyngitis, tracheitis and other diseases will make it difficult to breathe and purr.
4. Excessive obesity. Excessive fat will wrap the physiological organs in the body, causing the cat's pharyngeal wall to become thickened, the throat and trachea to become narrow, and the soft palate to become enlarged, which is not conducive to the healthy growth of the cat.
