Some cats with half-folded ears do not suffer from the disease, and cats with half-folded ears are heterozygous cats. Every Fold-eared cat has a chance of getting the disease, but the chance of the Fold-eared cat getting sick depends on the Fold-eared cat’s genes. If it’s a homozygous Fold-eared cat, the chance of getting the disease will be very high and severe. If it is a heterozygous folded-eared cat, the chance of developing the disease will be smaller. Fold-eared cats will all have some problems with their bones, but the difference is mild and severe.

Obvious symptoms of the disease in cats with folded ears

1. The tail is thick, short, stiff, and unable to bend. Some sick cats’ tails cannot swing.

2. The hind limbs are too short, with unusual bends, growths or lumps;

3. The joints of the limbs are swollen;

4. The soles of the hind feet Abnormally thick. If you observe carefully, when the cat sits upright, the pillow meat of the hind feet cannot touch the ground;

5. Abnormal growth of nails.
