Samoyeds may learn to howl like wolves for the following three reasons: 1. In estrus, Samoyeds will learn to howl like wolves when in estrus, which is a habit of canines; 2. It is normal for Samoyeds to imitate wolf howling, because Samoyeds evolved from wolves, and they still retain some of the nature of wolves. When it senses that there is some kind of danger around it, it will also imitate the wolf howl to remind its owner.
