Early symptoms of feline plague in cats: fever, vomiting, diarrhea, lack of energy, loss of appetite, etc. The incubation period of feline plague is 2-9 days. The most acute type usually does not show clinical symptoms and dies immediately. It is often mistaken for poisoning. Death occurs within 24 hours in the acute type, and the subacute type usually lasts about 7 days. ​​​​​​

When the first fever occurs, the body temperature is about 40°C and drops to normal temperature in about 24 hours. After 2-3 days, the body temperature rises again. The cat is depressed, has a rough coat, vomits, has hemorrhagic enteritis, and is dehydrated. Pregnant female cats infected with feline distemper can cause miscarriage and stillbirth. Treatment methods mainly include infusion to replenish electrolytes and nutrients and correct dehydration, improve vomiting symptoms, give broad-spectrum antibiotics to prevent secondary bacterial infections, and inject feline distemper monoclonal antibody, interferon, etc. to control viral infections. If severe anemia occurs, blood transfusion treatment should be considered.
