The whole process from the time when the amniotic fluid breaks to when all the kittens are born is about 2-10 hours. From the time the first kitten is born, the next one is usually born 20-60 minutes later, but the birth time is not necessarily here. Within the range, different cats have individual differences, which are related to the number of kittens and the condition and status of the mother cat.

If the baby is frightened too much by external stimulation during the birth process, labor will stop. If the cat has dystocia, it is recommended that the owner take the cat to the pet hospital for surgical treatment in time.

The signs before a cat gives birth are divided into the following aspects:

1. Cats before giving birth may have a loss of appetite, a drop in body temperature, or even not eating.

2. Cats before giving birth will have behavioral changes and become more nervous and wary of the surrounding things or environment. The cat will actively look for corners that it thinks are safer and wait for delivery.

3. Before the cat gives birth, you can see that the cat’s vulva secretions begin to increase, the amniotic fluid ruptures, and it is usually light yellow and clear liquid. The cat’s abdomen gradually shows more regular ups and downs.
