The sweat glands on the dog's body are underdeveloped and can only emit sweat through the foot pads and tongue. When a dog's body temperature is too high, the chest is often a hot spot. Sticking out the tongue and panting can quickly exhale the hot air in the chest to achieve a cooling effect.
