3. Then take the answer to 2. and take the root sign (=13.76)
4. Multiply the answer to 3. by 125 (=1720) to find that this golden retriever needs 1720 calories a day. If it's an overweight or inactive dog, it's better to multiply 125 by 100. When you get the correct calorie count, count the calories in a cup of dog food your dog eats. For example, you're eating an 8-ounce measuring cup (about the average household rice cup), which contains 550 calories. If you divide 1720 into 550, you will have three more drinks that day.
