How to detangle dogs

For dogs with severe tangles, you should use a comb or wire brush to comb along the direction of hair growth, starting from the tip of the hair. Then comb to the root of the hair. Do it little by little, and do not comb or pull hard to avoid causing pain or pulling out the hair. If the felting is severe, you can use scissors to cut the felt piece in the direction of the hair roots, and then comb it. If it still cannot be combed, you can only cut off the felted part.

Precautions for unknotting

Don’t get it wet: The dog’s fur will shrink if it gets wet and then dries again. It is even more impossible to comb them away, so dogs with tangled hair must not get wet.
Two combs: First use a comb to loosen all the knots in the hair, and then slowly move towards the root of the hair. When you feel that the hair has been combed out, use a bristle comb to comb the hair smoothly.
Detangling spray: Detangling spray rich in lanolin can make combing easier.
Don’t take too long: If the dog is knotted in more than one place, or the knotting is too serious, the time when sorting it out should not be too long. Grooming should take no more than 10 minutes at a time. Moderate rest and encouragement will help dispel the dog's motivation to resist struggling.
Doberman and other short-haired dogs should be wiped with a bath towel immediately after bathing to make the coat look brighter. After bathing long-haired dogs such as Pekingese, Maltese, Pomeranian and Afghan, put distilled water in a sprayer and lightly spray on the dog's hair. After drying, it will look fluffy and shiny.
Knotting Knife: Using a specialized knotting knife can help you deal with knots more easily.
