You can feed your dog a small amount of vegetable oil before inducing vomiting. On the one hand, it can help the vomitus to be discharged smoothly, and on the other hand, it also has a certain protective effect on the dog's esophagus.

After feeding the hydrogen peroxide, let the dog get up and move for about ten minutes to promote the metabolism of hydrogen peroxide. If the dog still does not vomit, you can feed hydrogen peroxide again. If it still has no effect, you should give up inducing vomiting and seek medical attention in time, because hydrogen peroxide has It has certain toxicity and is not easy to overdose.

When your dog vomits toxic food, immediately take plenty of water to flush the digestive tract and dilute the remaining hydrogen peroxide in the stomach.

Soapy water

Soapy water is safer and easier to use to induce vomiting. Soapy water is safer than hydrogen peroxide, but its vomiting effect is not as good as hydrogen peroxide. When hydrogen peroxide is not available, it is the first choice for indoor first aid.

It is best to always have some soap at home, and the water you mix with it must be clean. Dilute it 9 times and take it orally. The dosage is 10 ml of diluent per kilogram of body weight. If you cannot find soap in time, you can use salt instead. Only when the salt is completely dissolved in warm water can it be given to the dog. (It is best to consult a veterinarian before using salt to induce vomiting, because eating too much salt can also cause salt poisoning)

Clear water

It is not suitable to induce vomiting in the following situations

1. If your dog has already vomited, please do not induce vomiting.

2. If your dog is unconscious, weak or has difficulty breathing, inducing vomiting may increase the risk of aspiration pneumonia.

3. If your dog accidentally eats corrosive poisons such as strong acids or alkalis, such as bleach, drain cleaners or petroleum, these substances will burn the esophagus, and inducing vomiting will cause secondary burning.

4. If you find that the dog has ingested toxic substances more than two hours after it ingested the substances, do not try to induce vomiting at this time. Because the toxic substances at this time have been digested by the dog, vomiting cannot help the elimination of the poison.

Poisoning reactions in dogs
