Training to teach dogs to lie down

Dog “lying down” training is a basic training. As long as you use the dog's desire for treats and the owner's physical guidance, the dog will soon learn how to lie down.

Step 1

First, let the dog wear a collar and order the dog to lie down on the left side of the owner. Then ask the owner to squat down, and then hold the dog's left front foot with his left hand and fix it.

Step 2

Then hold the snack with your right hand and slowly move it outward. In order to eat the snack, the dog will slowly move its body outward.

Step 3

As the owner's hand slowly drops, the dog will assume a lying down position. As soon as the dog finishes lying down, give it the treat in your hand as an encouragement.

1. When the dog completes the action, don’t forget to give snacks as encouragement immediately.
2. Because the action of "lying down" is very similar to the action of "playing dead", after learning to "lie down", you can go further and teach the dog with the command of "bang" (simulating gunshots). Dog plays "play dead game".
