Causes of intestinal obstruction in dogs

A condition in which the contents of the digestive tract cannot pass through the intestines is called intestinal obstruction (intestinal obstruction). The main site of disease is the small intestine. Mechanical obstruction of the small intestine or irreversible changes in the normal physiological position of the small intestine (intussusception, incarceration, torsion, etc.) can cause severe abdominal pain, vomiting or shock in dogs. The disease occurs quickly and develops rapidly. For example, if treatment is not timely, the mortality rate is high.

Symptoms of intestinal obstruction in dogs

1. Vomiting, abdominal swelling, abdominal pain, and inability to defecate.

2. Frequent vomiting can lead to obvious dehydration symptoms in dogs.

3. Due to intestinal obstruction, a large amount of gas accumulates in the intestines, and the dog's abdomen can be clearly seen to be enlarged.

4. In severe cases, there will be progressive abdominal pain, and the dog's body temperature will also increase and symptoms such as weakness will occur, and sometimes shock will occur.
