To measure the dog’s temperature, choose the rectal thermometer method

1. Shake the thermometer and the mercury returns to zero.
2. Apply a little Vaseline to the top of the thermometer to lubricate it to avoid causing pain to the dog when inserting it.
3. It is best to find an assistant to help. The assistant fixes the dog's head and forelimbs and comforts them, while the measurer lifts the dog's tail.
4. Gently insert the thermometer about 2cm into the dog’s anus.
5. The thermometer stays in the anus for about 2 minutes. During this period, they cannot leave the owner's supervision.
6. Pull out the thermometer and read the temperature.
7. Store the thermometer after disinfecting it with alcohol.

To measure the dog's temperature, choose the hind leg thermometer method

1. Raise the dog's legs and clamp the thermometer on it, so that the thermometer is tightly clamped by the hind legs and belly.
2. Electronic thermometers usually automatically alarm after the measurement is completed.
3. Electronic thermometers are susceptible to interference. It is recommended to measure three times and take the average.

Healthy body temperature standards for dogs

1. Small dogs: 38.5-39℃ for puppies and 38-39℃ for adult dogs.
2. Medium-sized dogs: 38.5-39℃ for puppies and 38-38.5℃ for adult dogs.
3. Large dogs: 38.2-39℃ for puppies and 37.5-38℃ for adult dogs.
