Grooming your dog can reduce the chance of skin diseases

Grooming is usually used to remove loose hair and keep the skin clean, reducing the chance of skin diseases and parasitic diseases. It also distributes the oil attached to the hair evenly, making the fur look smoother and shiny. For bulldogs with long or double coats, grooming can remove the dead hair underneath and stimulate the growth of new hair. And it can make the shampoo penetrate into the skin surface more easily when taking a bath.

Depending on the type of your bulldog's coat, the number of grooming times per week will vary. For short and smooth hair, it can be combed twice a week, and for long and smooth hair, it needs to be combed every day. Hair types in between these two types can be combed 3-5 times a week as needed.

The comb is determined by the hair

What kind of comb your bulldog should use mainly depends on the coat type of your bulldog.

Flat brush. These brushes are suitable for long, sleek dogs such as Yorkshire Terriers. The bristles of these brushes are rounded at the top, making them less likely to damage the skin.

Comms can be divided into fine-tooth combs, medium-tooth combs and wide-tooth combs. A fine-tooth comb is suitable for soft, thin, silky hair. A medium-tooth comb is used for regular fur. A wide-tooth comb is suitable for combing thick and coarse hair.

This type of comb also doubles as a very useful Bulldog special fine-toothed facial comb for removing food debris from the hair around the eyes. A flea comb is a special fine-toothed comb often used to remove parasites from hair.
