Associative memory:

It is an extremely important memory method for dogs. Without this, many training tasks would be impossible. However, some associations are beneficial and some are harmful. For example, in dog training, the interval between giving the command "sit" and "lie down" is always 5 seconds, then the dog's association will no longer remember the command but the interval, and the dog will actively change its posture after 5 seconds. The smarter the dog, the easier it is to form bad associations. Therefore, it is necessary to prevent the formation of bad associations when training dogs.
