Steps to train a dog to lie down and not move

Step 1: Choose a quiet, closed space with no one to disturb you as the training venue. Let the dog sit down first. When the dog sits down successfully, , the owner needs to gently touch and encourage the dog;

Step 2: Hold the snack in your left hand, and then slowly place the food on the floor. The attracted dog also lowers his body until he lands in a straight line on the ground.

Step 3: When the dog is lying down with its legs, elbows and body on the ground, the owner gives the "get down" command, rewards it with small snacks in time, and at the same time gently strokes the dog's back with his right hand;

Step 4: In most cases, the dog will lie down and finish the reward. Before it stands up on its own, the owner will give the "sit" command to indicate the end of the training;

Step 5: After several times of practice, the owner can gently guide the dog to lie down with his bare hands. When he lies down, he will issue the "lie down" command in time and let the dog stay in the "lie down" state for a few seconds. The owner then gives the "sit" command so that the dog can resume its sitting position. At this time, do not reward the dog with food. When the dog is deeply impressed by this action, he can train it a few more times. When the dog lies down to rest for a period of time, he can be rewarded with treats. Attention should be paid to training a dog to lie down

1. It is not recommended to use brute force to make the dog cooperate with the owner and force it to lie down;

2. During the initial training, the dog will press its nose into the owner’s hand to get snacks after lying down. The owner cannot give it immediately, but needs to wait until the dog calms down before rewarding it;

3. If the dog is not willing to lie down according to the above steps, the owner can hold the snack and circle around the dog, and then slowly move the hand holding the snack downward. If during this process, the dog's head will move according to the owner's behavior, the dog will quickly learn to lie down;

4. Make full use of the dog's fatigue time. When the dog lies down spontaneously, the owner can use this opportunity to conduct reinforcement training: the owner needs to quietly walk to the side of the dog, squat down, gently touch its back, and then repeat "Lie down" ".
