The second stage is from the 30th to the 45th day of pregnancy. At this time, the fetus in the abdomen begins to grow, and you can see that the female dog’s belly is getting bigger. The most obvious thing is that the female dog becomes urinating frequently. If you used to walk the dog once in the morning and evening, then you should increase it once or twice a day, increase the amount of exercise appropriately, and exercise the female dog's body. Increase the nutrition of the female dog appropriately, but the amount must be controlled. If the fetus absorbs too much nutrition and grows too fast, it will also cause dystocia.
The third stage is between forty-five and sixty days into pregnancy, when the fetus has grown very large. During this period, you should ensure that the female dog gets a certain amount of exercise. If the female dog cannot run, take her for more walks. But remember not to run up stairs or jump high. At this time, the female dog's appetite will increase, but it only needs to be 20% more than usual. Don't feed too much or it will harm her.

Precautions when giving birth

Usually during the 58th to 63rd day of pregnancy, the female dog will become extremely restless, walking in circles in the kennel or scratching the wall or floor. Wait for it to happen, this is a sign that you are about to give birth. Don't panic during this period and make prenatal preparations.
1. You can prepare some clean old sheets or a whole baby mat. Remember to have strong water absorbency, because a large amount of amniotic fluid and blood will appear during delivery. If all of it flows to the female dog, it will easily breed. Bacteria, causing skin diseases. Place the prepared sheets in a relatively closed space and surround them in the shape of a bird's nest.
2. If the female dog gives birth to puppies for the first time, it is best for the owner to stay with her and take care of her, because some dogs will not bite the umbilical cord and placenta. At this time, prepare a pair of sterilized scissors and cotton thread for backup. When the bitch gives birth, help cut the umbilical cord, and then tie the umbilical cord with cotton thread near the belly of the puppy. If the female dog's water breaks and she does not give birth for more than an hour, she should be sent to the hospital immediately for a caesarean section, otherwise the puppy will easily suffocate and die.
3. During the birth period, when there are discontinuous litters and it is confirmed that there are still puppies in the belly, you can take the mother dog for a walk around. Slight exercise can help the puppies to lie in the birth canal. Make it easier for the female dog to give birth.

Precautions for postpartum care of female dogs

1. Dog food can meet the nutritional needs of female dogs after delivery, but it is necessary to boil some broth or fish soup for female dogs to eat. Because the female dog wants to produce milk, the amount of soup must be increased.
