Adjust diet

Dogs should not eat too dry food. You can prepare some fresh vegetables and fruits. Usually, some dietary fiber is added to Huskies to help their intestinal peristalsis and promote defecation.

Use laxatives

If the Husky's constipation is severe, you can take some laxatives, such as 5-30 grams of sodium sulfate or magnesium sulfate, taken once with 200 ml of normal water. When choosing these medications, you must first consult your veterinarian and obtain permission before feeding your husky.

Enema or surgery

If your Husky is severely constipated, you can choose to give it an enema or surgery. Enema with 5-30 ml of warm soapy water, glycerin or liquid paraffin can be used. It should be noted that both enema and surgery should be performed in a professional pet hospital with professional veterinarians. Owners are not allowed to perform enema or surgery on Huskies without authorization.

Common causes of constipation in Huskies

1. The food is mixed with some substances that are difficult to digest or even harmful, such as bones, hair, raw and frozen shrimp, etc.
2. The sudden change in the living environment makes the Husky unable to adapt, disrupting its regular life, causing difficulty in defecation and constipation.
3. Suffering from anal abscess, anal fistula, rectal tumor, intussusception, intestinal hernia, pelvic fracture, prostatic hypertrophy and other diseases, resulting in symptoms of constipation.
