Causes of colds in Border Collies

Treatment methods for colds in Border Collies

1. First of all, exclude the possibility of other diseases and take the dog to the hospital for a routine blood test. If there is no problem, just give a subcutaneous injection to reduce fever. Take one pill each of Bupleurum + Antongding, repeat it every 6 hours, and the dog's fever will subside soon.
2. For ordinary fever, Xiaobupleurum granules can be taken orally. Pay attention to the dosage. It is recommended to feed after consulting a veterinarian, and take paracetamol orally and metamizole orally.
3. If the dog’s fever is caused by a cold, oral antiviral granules are required.

What should I do if my Border Collie has a cold and a fever?

If your dog has a fever, you must first cool it down. You can use 75% alcohol or warm water to wipe the foot pads and belly. You can also use an ice pack or a towel soaked in cold water to apply cold compresses. Change it every 5 minutes and repeat this until the temperature drops. Guide your dog to drink more water to promote urination and lower body temperature.
