How to train a golden retriever to hold a basin

You can start with toys that your dog likes
1. Put the toy in front of the dog. When the dog bites the toy it likes, say the command "hold it."
2. Let the dog keep it for a while. When you release the toy, say "put it down" and give the dog a reward.
By repeating this a few times, the dog will be able to establish a connection between the command "grab" and the action of biting the given thing. In the dog's mind, it feels that as long as it hears "grab", it will subconsciously think that it will make this action. There will be rewards~
Try changing the basin now. If the dog does not hold it, you can help the dog bite it (use the basin to rub the dog’s mouth and gently pinch the dog’s mouth with your hands)
Take your time, don’t be impatient
ps: Don’t do too much training every day, otherwise it will easily make the dog resist. Train less often and more frequently over three days. One day your dog will bite the rice bowl and come to you when it is hungry. ~
When dogs are young, they are easier to tame and correct their bad habits:
1. Usually around 3-5 months, you can practice some basic behaviors, such as calling, sitting, lying down, shaking hands and practicing urination and defecation at fixed points.
2. Dogs aged 6-8 months have fully developed bone strength and can do some jumping-related training.
After 3 or 8 months, the dog’s physique and intelligence have been fully developed, and it can be trained to perform some complex movements, such as professional obstacles passing, fancy catching Frisbee, etc.
