Dog breeding methods

The common methods of dog breeding are natural mating and artificial assisted breeding. Natural mating means putting female dogs and male dogs in estrus together. After they play with each other and become familiar with each other, they will mate on their own. Generally, no human intervention is needed. Artificial assisted breeding requires human intervention. One person is responsible for holding the female dog, and the other person guides the male dog to crawl. Generally, the male dog and the female dog will cooperate with each other for mating after assisting and guiding a few times.
1. Natural mating
Letting male dogs mate naturally is the best way of mating. It is mainly suitable for situations where male dogs and female dogs are about the same size and both have mating experience, and when the female dog is in estrus. It is more obvious and can withstand the pressure of a male dog on the body. Before breeding, the male and female dogs need to be familiar with each other and communicate with each other. When both parties are in the optimal estrus, they can stay together in a quiet and comfortable environment to mate freely.
2. Artificial assistance
If dogs cannot mate naturally, artificial assistance is needed. At this time, two people are usually needed. One person is responsible for holding the female dog's head, and the other person is responsible for guiding the male dog to crawl. After the male dog crawls, he can help the male dog put his genitals into the vagina of the female dog. , and hold the bitch’s belly with your hands to prevent the bitch from sitting down. After successful breeding, the female dog will lock the male dog's genitals and separate automatically in about 20-30 minutes. Be careful not to open them artificially to avoid injury to the genitals.
Note: If you want to breed a dog, it is best to wait until the dog is fully developed before breeding. Generally, breeding can be done when the dog reaches 8-10 months. If If the dog is not fully developed, it may cause mismatch, stillbirth, dystocia, etc.
