Causes of abortion in female dogs

1. Infectious causes: mainly seen in abortion caused by Brucella infection, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella, canine Warmth, etc. can also cause miscarriage in dogs.

2. Lack of progesterone. Generally, it is caused by incomplete formation of the corpus luteum in pregnancy, and there are also cases of early degeneration of the corpus luteum.

3. Mental stress: Mental stress caused by fright, blow, trauma, long-distance transportation, etc. can increase the secretion of adrenaline and reflexively cause uterine contraction.

4. Traumatic stimulation, improper feeding and management of pregnant female dogs, medical errors, etc. can also cause miscarriage.

5. Embryo development arrest: Sperm or egg abnormalities, chromosomal abnormalities, and inbreeding can cause embryo abnormalities, development arrest, stillbirth, and miscarriage.
