Symptoms of vitamin A deficiency in dogs

1. Lack of energy, growth stagnation, loss of appetite, and unsteady gait.

2. Dryness and turbidity of the cornea, or symptoms of vision loss or blindness.

3. The skin of sick dogs is hyperkeratosis and purulent dermatitis may also occur.

4. Delayed replacement of deciduous teeth often causes diarrhea and sometimes anemia.

Treatment of vitamin A deficiency in dogs

1. For the treatment of this disease, 2-3ml of cod liver oil or vitamin A can be taken orally, at a dose of 0.12 mg per kilogram of body weight per day.

2. Use triple vitamins, 0.5-1 ml per day, subcutaneously or intramuscularly, or add 1 drop of triple vitamins to the dog's feed for 3-4 weeks.

3. Strengthen feeding and feed more green vegetables, carrots, yellow corn, milk, eggs, meat and other foods containing more vitamin A and carotene.
