Symptoms of the British Shorthair Cat Cold:

1. Poor mental status and loss of appetite are symptoms of the British Shorthair Cat. The sick cat will become lethargic most of the time. Napping on my stomach and having no appetite to eat.

2. British shorthair cats will also have runny noses after catching a cold, sometimes with thick green liquid.

3. British Shorthairs with colds may also have symptoms of soft stools. In severe cases, they may even experience diarrhea and vomiting.

Causes of colds in British shorthair cats:

1. The cat’s physical fitness is poor, its resistance is weak, and the cat’s nest has poor cold protection properties. Acute febrile illness caused by upper respiratory tract catarrh in cats.

2. When the temperature in nature drops suddenly and the temperature difference is too large, British short-haired cats will easily catch cold, which often affects the respiratory mucosa and reduces the resistance of the respiratory mucosa. The cat's body will be stimulated by the cold and cannot survive for a while. Colds occur due to adaptation to changes.

3. Colds are more likely to occur especially in early spring or late autumn when the temperature is changeable, or when cats sweat during exercise and are affected by air-conditioning.
