How to cut the dog’s umbilical cord

1. The umbilical cord will generally be disposed of by the female dog herself. If the female dog does not do it, the owner will dispose of it.

2. Prepare sterilized scissors, alcohol cotton, alcohol lamp, thread, disinfectant and other umbilical cord essentials.

3. Keep the umbilical cord at least one centimeter in length. If the female dog does not bite it off on her own, make sure the placenta comes out with the puppy before cutting the umbilical cord.

4. Never pierce the umbilical cord close to the belly or cut the umbilical cord close to the belly.
