Gradually folded ear cats may not necessarily develop the disease. Folded ears are a dominant gene. Once the cat exhibits the trait of folded ears, the cat will have a high chance of developing genotyped genetic diseases. If a cat with folded ears has two parents, one with folded ears and the other with erect ears, the disease may not occur. If both parents have folded ears, the chance of developing skeletal genetic diseases will be very high.

Symptoms of the disease in cats with folded ears

1. In the early stages of the disease, the cat will be lazy, inactive, and have reduced jumping ability. .

2. The tail will become thicker due to bone hyperplasia, its flexibility will decrease, it will not be able to swing, and it will feel painful when touched. The cat's limbs will swell and lumps will appear in the joints.

3. The hind limbs will be shorter than the forelimbs and very stiff. Pain during flexion will cause it to sit in a human-like posture.

4. Generally, the meat pads are thicker than normal cats, and the back paws are also abnormally thick. When sitting upright, the pillow meat of the back paws cannot touch the ground.
