What complications can cat ear mites cause?

Cats infected with ear mites may cause otitis and meningitis in severe cases. At the beginning of the disease, yellowish-brown earwax appears in the ear canal. The cat will scratch its ears vigorously because it is itchy, causing the capillaries inside the ears to rupture, causing extravasation of blood, and even causing meningitis in severe cases.
